Sumbwe Community Hospital is a community-focused health facility in Ssumbwe, Bulaga, Wakiso District, Uganda.
Founded in response to the need for accessible healthcare closer to home, we serve individuals and families in Wakiso District and surrounding communities.
We provide outpatient and inpatient care, maternal and antenatal services, laboratory and pharmacy support, ambulance and emergency care, general medicine, and community-based rehabilitation. We are also developing a surgical theatre to bring essential surgical care closer to our community in the future.
Our team of healthcare professionals, volunteers, partners and community members works together to provide compassionate, affordable and evidence-based care—helping build stronger, healthier communities.

A Message from Our Director
At Sumbwe Community Hospital, we believe that healthcare is not a privilege it is a basic human need.
We began with a simple goal: to create a place where people in our community can receive quality, compassionate and affordable care without travelling long distances or facing impossible financial barriers.
Each day, we see why this mission matters. We are committed to improving our services, supporting our healthcare workers and bringing more essential care closer to home. We are grateful to our volunteers, partners, donors and everyone who stands with us.
Together, we can build a healthier community where every person has the opportunity to receive the care they need.
Mukasa Richard Ssenyonga,
Director, Sumbwe Community Hospital
