Care today, hope for tomorrow
Sumbwe Community Hospital is a community-focused health facility in Ssumbwe, Bulaga. It was founded so that people who would otherwise travel far for treatment can get quality care close to home.
Health professionals, volunteers, partners and community members work together to deliver care that is compassionate, affordable and evidence-based — and we keep expanding what we offer.

Surgical Theatre Project
A safe theatre for emergency Caesarean sections and essential general surgery — right here in Wakiso.
Already secured: ✓ Anaesthesia machine ✓ Operating light ✓ Post-operative care
Still needed: operating table, patient monitors, oxygen and resuscitation equipment, instrument sets and sterile supplies, theatre ventilation, installation and safety checks.
Tumaini Rehabilitation Centre
Our first residential detox and recovery facility — trauma-informed, culturally grounded care for mental health and substance use.
- Fit out the building — detox-safe rooms, plumbing, electrics, secure medicine storage
- Equip care spaces — beds, monitoring, group and counselling rooms
- Fund a year of staffing — round-the-clock clinical and counselling team
- Open intake — residential detox, recovery and family reintegration
