Bring safe surgery closer to home
We are building a safe theatre for emergency Caesarean sections and essential general surgery in Wakiso District. Key equipment is secured — the rest is still needed before we can open.
Where we are
Surgical services have not opened yet. Here is what is done and what is still needed.
Progress so far
- ✓ Anaesthesia machine secured
- ✓ Operating light secured
- ✓ Post-operative care arrangements in place
What we still need to open safely
- Surgical operating bed / table
- Patient monitoring equipment, including pulse oximetry
- Oxygen supply with backup, suction, airway and resuscitation equipment
- Caesarean and general-surgery instrument sets, sterile consumables, infection-prevention supplies
- Theatre ventilation and air conditioning
- Installation, testing and final safety checks
